This is Dr. Nirmal Kandel from Nepal. I am a Medical graduate (MBBS) with Masters in Anthropology (MA) and Masters in Public Health (MPH). Currently, I am working in World Health Organization-South East Asia Regional Office (SEARO), New Delhi, India in Department of Health Systems Development. I have worked with World Health Organization, Programme for Immunization Preventable Diseases (WHO Nepal-IPD) as a Surveillance Medical Officer in highly conflict area of Western Region of Nepal. I did my MBBS from the 'Sylhet M.A.G. Osmani Medical College', Sylhet, Bangladesh in 2001 and completed Masters in Anthropology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 2004 and Masters in Public Health from Lund University, Sweden.

I am interested in public health of the region. South-East Asia is one of the underpriviledged region lacking behind in the field of health, be it programs or professionals. Hence, I have decided to continue to work as a public health specialist.
